Know Your Exam

Admission to three years programme of D.Ed (Diploma in Education) is granted to the students after earning a certificate of qualification of Senior Secondary Examination subject to other eligibility conditions as notified by the authority governing the admission. During first two years, examinations are conducted by this Board in accordance with the Syllabi of D.Ed (Diploma in Education) Course bifurcated into four semesters, whereas third year is meant for internship. At the end of each semester, examination is conducted by the Board for only those students who after seeking admission in the Colleges/Institutes (affiliated with this Board), allotted to them by the authority governing admission to this Course (SCERT), complete the prescribed course of study and attain required percentage of attendances and also possess good moral character. After qualifying examination of all the four semesters and completing internship, as provided in the D.Ed regulations, a Diploma Certificate is awarded by this Board.

A student becomes eligible to appear in the examination of each semester only if he/she possesses good moral character and also completes prescribed course of study by attaining at least 85% attendance as a regular student in the Colleges/Institutes recognized by the NCTE and affiliated by this Board.

Scheme of Studies

Based on Re-envisioned Elementary Teacher Education Programme prepared by the NCTE Review Committee, this Board with effect from 2011(admission year), adapted the syllabi of NCTE and bifurcated the same into four semesters as detailed here under.

The new D.Ed curriculum includes new perspectives in elementary school education and also delineates rationale behind their inclusion. The new area of engagements, whether in foundation or other courses, make this Curriculum more demanding and challenging and it must only help in upgrading the academic standards and the infrastructure to deliver, in our institutions. Most of the courses have been designed to include unit-wise readings so that both faculty and students are able to do self-study as well. Detailed Syllabus (Semester Wise)
